Cloud Engineer

About the role | Mō te mahi

We are looking for a Cloud Engineer to help build, configure and maintain our Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.

Reporting to the Manager, Digital Operations, you will undertake hands-on cloud engineering and provide technical support across a range of platforms and services. You will help maintain reliable and well-managed cloud environments, contribute to improvements and automation, and work with internal teams and external providers to resolve issues and deliver changes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Build, configure and maintain services across our Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
• Support Microsoft 365 workloads, end-user devices and Windows operating systems.
• Resolve cloud platform incidents and requests, escalating more complex issues when required.
• Deliver documented and tested change and release activities.
• Contribute to cloud automation, monitoring and Infrastructure as Code activities.
• Apply security controls, maintain technical documentation and support compliance requirements.

Skills & Experience| Ngā pukenga me ngā wheako

To be successful in this role you will bring:

• 1-3 years’ experience in IT support, systems or cloud engineering, with exposure to Microsoft Azure and/or Microsoft 365, or a strong foundation developed through study.
• Practical skills in configuring and supporting Microsoft Azure and/or Microsoft 365 services.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 workloads, Windows operating systems and device management using Intune.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical matters clearly and recognise when an issue needs to be escalated.
• An interest in automation and scripting using PowerShell, Python or Bash, with a willingness to develop your knowledge of Infrastructure as Code.
• A collaborative and curious approach, with a commitment to learning and continuous improvement.
