The Role:
We’re looking for a skilled Cloud Engineer to design, implement and maintain secure, scalable cloud environments across AWS and Azure. You’ll work with modern infrastructure-as-code and automation tools including Terraform, CloudFormation and Ansible, while supporting cloud security, monitoring, troubleshooting, performance, cost optimisation and disaster recovery. Working closely with Development, Operations and Security teams, you’ll help deliver reliable cloud solutions and drive ongoing improvements across the environment.

Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and manage secure, scalable AWS and Azure environments.
- Automate infrastructure using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible and scripting.
- Maintain cloud security, governance and access controls.
- Monitor, troubleshoot and optimise cloud performance and costs.
- Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Collaborate with Development, Operations and Security teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve and optimise cloud environments.
- Maintain technical architecture and infrastructure documentation.
- Participate in an out-of-hours roster for technology changes.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience across AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.
- Hands-on experience designing, deploying and managing cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with cloud automation, orchestration and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Strong understanding of virtualisation, containers and Kubernetes/Docker.
- Solid knowledge of cloud networking, security, VPNs, load balancing and firewalls.
- Experience with cloud storage, monitoring and performance management.
- Strong scripting skills using Python, Bash or PowerShell.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, collaboration and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines desirable
