About the role

Valmont Corporate Shared Services Sdn Bhd is seeking a talented Cloud Engineer to join our growing team in Mid Valley City, Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing our cloud infrastructure and network solutions. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the scalability, security, and performance of our cloud-based systems, directly contributing to the technological excellence and operational efficiency of our organisation. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to optimise our cloud architecture and support our digital transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure solutions on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

• Configure and manage network components within cloud environments, including virtual networks, security groups, and load balancers

• Monitor cloud performance, conduct capacity planning, and optimise resource utilisation to ensure cost efficiency

• Implement and maintain security best practices, including identity management, encryption, and compliance protocols

• Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues, providing technical support to internal teams

• Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to automate deployment processes and improve infrastructure reliability

• Document cloud architecture, configurations, and standard operating procedures for knowledge sharing and compliance

• Stay current with cloud technologies and industry best practices, recommending improvements and upgrades

• Manage cloud disaster recovery and business continuity planning

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in cloud engineering or network engineering roles

• Strong knowledge of major cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform

• Proficiency in networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and load balancing

• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar

• Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and cloud security best practices

• Familiarity with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail

• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, or ELK Stack

• Relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, or Google Cloud Professional are highly valued

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment

• Preferred: Experience with hybrid cloud solutions and multi-cloud environments
