Cloud Network Engineer

Summary

Designs and secures AWS cloud networks for a fintech firm, using Control Tower, Transit Gateway, and IaC tools like Terraform to enforce governance and segmentation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Architect and maintain a multi-account AWS landing zone using AWS Control Tower to ensure standardized security and governance.
  • Establish network segmentation strategies between shared infrastructure and workload accounts.
  • Maintain and optimize AWS Network Firewall or Next-Generation Cloud Firewall rules to control ingress/egress traffic.
  • Configure and manage security groups, NACLs, and AWS WAF to enhance cloud security posture.
  • Design and maintain routing tables between shared infrastructure and workload accounts for optimal network performance.
  • Implement best practices for VPC peering, AWS Transit Gateway, and PrivateLink to enable efficient interconnectivity.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot latency, routing conflicts, and DNS resolution issues within cloud environments.
  • Utilize AWS Security Hub for centralizing security findings and compliance reporting.
  • Develop and manage Terraform and CloudFormation templates for cloud infrastructure provisioning.
  • Automate security and governance policies using AWS Config, IAM Policies, and SCPs.
  • Establish automated monitoring and alerting using AWS CloudWatch, AWS Config, and GuardDuty.
  • Work closely with DevOps, security, and cloud engineers to ensure seamless integration of security policies.
  • Evaluate and adopt new cloud networking technologies to enhance scalability and security.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in cloud network architecture and governance
  • Strong understanding of AWS cloud computing technologies
  • Experience with AWS Network Firewall or next-generation cloud firewalls
  • Strong knowledge of routing strategies, including AWS Transit Gateway, VPC Peering, PrivateLink, and routing tables
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation
  • Hands‑on experience with security and compliance monitoring tools, including AWS Security Hub, AWS Config, and GuardDuty
  • Basic knowledge and skills in Kubernetes
  • Experience with cloud migration and transformation tools and methodologies
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
