Cloud Operations Engineer II
Summary
Owns day-to-day health of 11:11 Systems' cloud compute environment: capacity planning, cluster provisioning, fleet management, alert monitoring, and handling escalated customer tickets, including after-hours on-call. Core stack is enterprise VMware (vCenter, vCloud Director, NSX) plus backup/DR tools like Veeam and Zerto.
The Role:
11:11 is looking for an experiencedCloud Operations EngineerL2 to help manage all aspects of 11:11’s cloudcomputesystems. This position is responsible for the optimization, implementation and maintaining our organizations cloud-based systems. The Cloud Engineer will be involved with capacity planning, cluster provisioning, fleet management, alert monitoring, and escalations. This position will require an individual with a penchant for detail and a continuous improvement mindset. This is a full-time position reporting to the Manager of Cloud Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide complete ownership and accountability of all responsibilities assigned regarding 11:11’s cloudcomputesystems.
- Responsible for cluster provisioning, alert monitoring, and environmental management
- Act as an 11:11 escalation engineer for customer problems including participation in engineering on-call rotation after hours.
- Provide escalation support to Level I Cloud Operations Engineers
- Manage clustercomputecapacity (hosts, CPU/memory, etc.)
- Develop, track, and report KPIs associated with cloud system capacity (CPU, memory, storage, etc.)
- Provide accurate, timely and professional responses to escalated customer tickets from support. These actions ensure a good customer experience.
- Follow 11:11 Systems best practices for cloudcomputesystems management.
- Deliver superior customer service while maintaining professional relationships.
- Work supportively with colleagues, operating in a manner that is consistent with 11:11’s Code of Business Ethics and Company Values
- Responsibly receive, transmit, and handle company data and information per Company data handling agreements, work procedures and policies
- Review and follow company policies and guidelines, data privacy practices, including annual compliance training certification and policy acknowledgements
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline or anequivalent years of work experiencerequired.
- 4+ years recent experience as a technical, hands-on, enterprise VMware administrator
- VMware VCP or VCAP certified preferred.
- Extensive knowledge and experience using VMware management tools (vCenter,vCloudDirector, VMware Configuration Manager, NSX) preferred.
- Experience with backup and DR solutions such as Veeam and Zerto preferred.
- Understanding of cloud-based infrastructure services, such as BaaS, IaaS andDRaaS.
- Experience working with global data center environments.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
