Cloud Platform Engineer in Sofia who designs, builds, and operates Cognyte's AWS-hosted analytics platform infrastructure — including Kubernetes/EKS environments, Terraform IaC, and CI/CD/GitOps pipelines — while also supporting customer-managed on-prem deployments. Core stack includes AWS managed services (RDS/Aurora, S3, MSK, ElastiCache), Terraform, Helm, and ArgoCD.

Today’s world is crime-riddled. Criminals are everywhere, invisible, virtual and sophisticated. Traditional ways to prevent and investigate crime and terror are no longer enough…

Technology is changing incredibly fast. The criminals know it, and they are taking advantage. We know it too.

For over 30 years, the incredible minds at Cognyte around the world have worked closely together and put their expertise to work, to keep up with constantly evolving technological and criminal trends, and help make the world a safer place with leading investigative analytics software solutions.

We are looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer to join our Decision Intelligence team in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Our product:

Our analytics platform powers our portfolio. Data is growing rapidly and is highly fragmented across different departments, and organizations are looking to adopt open software to keep up with the pace of technology. These market shifts require security organizations to deploy an analytics platform that can connect different solutions from either Cognyte or third parties to effectively develop new capabilities.

As a Cognyter you’ll:

  • Design, build, and operate AWS-based infrastructure using Terraform and cloud-native best practices.
  • Develop and support Kubernetes environments (EKS and customer-managed clusters).
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and deployment automation.
  • Lead the evolution of our AWS-hosted platform while supporting customer-managed/on-prem deployments.
  • Evaluate and implement AWS managed services such as RDS/Aurora, S3, MSK, and caching solutions.
  • Improve platform reliability, security, observability, and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Security teams to deliver scalable and secure solutions.
  • Drive cloud cost optimization and platform standardization initiatives.

Requirements

Your tool box:

  • BSc in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud, or Platform Engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS, including networking, IAM, security, and managed services.
  • Deep experience with Kubernetes (K8s/EKS) and containerized environments.
  • Strong experience with Terraform, Helm, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines and GitOps practices.
  • Experience with RDS/Aurora, PostgreSQL, S3, MSK, ElastiCache, and other AWS managed services.
  • Experience with Ansible, Jenkins, ArgoCD, or similar DevOps tools.
  • Strong Linux, networking, troubleshooting, and automation skills.
  • Experience with cloud migrations and production-grade distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Fluent English.
  • An endlessly curious mind.

Nice to have:

  • AWS GovCloud, FedRAMP, or regulated cloud environment experience.
  • Experience supporting both cloud-hosted and on-prem Kubernetes deployments.
  • Knowledge of SRE principles, disaster recovery, and cloud cost optimization (FinOps).
