Senior / Lead Cloud SDN Software Engineer
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior or Lead Cloud SDN Software Engineer to join an advanced infrastructure team for one of our key clients. Hourly Rate (B2B): * Senior: 130 – 145 PLN / hour
Lead: Up to 160 – 170 PLN / hour
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration (PO): Initial purchase order for 3 months, with subsequent extensions for 6 to 12 months.
Core Profile & Focus
This isn't a traditional networking role. You will be building, scaling, and developing the software-defined networking layer for modern cloud infrastructure, focusing heavily on:
OpenStack ecosystem development (Cinder, Nova, and especially Neutron).
Next-gen virtual networking via Open vSwitch (OVS) and OVN.
API Development: Designing and building robust cloud network platform APIs using Golang.
Main Responsibilities
Design & Operate: Own the software-defined networking (SDN) layer for large-scale cloud infrastructure.
Open-Source Contribution: Actively contribute back to upstream projects including Open vSwitch, OVN, OpenStack Neutron, and the Linux Kernel.
API Development: Design and develop high-performance networking APIs and cloud network platform products.
Observability: Implement robust metrics, distributed tracing, and structured logging for network services.
Automation: Build automation frameworks for network operations and day-to-day operational workflows.
Incident Management: Lead root-cause analysis on complex network incidents and implement permanent code fixes.
Requirements
SDN Expertise: Proven production experience with Open vSwitch (OVS) and OVN.
Cloud Networking: Solid knowledge of VPC, NAT, VPN, BGP, VXLAN, load balancing, and DNS.
Linux Deep Dive: Deep understanding of the Linux networking stack (namespaces, iptables, tc, and kernel subsystems).
Cloud Integration: Experience integrating SDN solutions directly with OpenStack Neutron.
Programming Skills: Strong coding skills in Go, Python, C/C++, or Bash.
Cloud-Native Tech: Familiarity with Kubernetes networking and CNI plugins (e.g., Calico).
Language: Good command of English (written and spoken).
Nice to Have
Production experience with DPDK (Data Plane Development Kit).
Experience leveraging AI tools to optimize your day-to-day engineering workflow.
