Love architecture but don't want to lose touch with the code? This one's for you.

We're looking for a hands-on Cloud Solution Architect to design practical, scalable AWS solutions for a business operating across New Zealand.
This isn't a traditional enterprise architecture role. You'll work closely with engineering and product teams, understand existing systems at code level, and turn complex business requirements into solutions that can actually be built.

What you'll be doing
  • Design end-to-end AWS cloud solutions across applications, integrations, security and operations.
  • Work within .NET / .NET Core codebases to understand existing systems and guide technical decisions.
  • Shape architecture across microservices, event-driven systems and RESTful APIs.
  • Balance scalability, resilience, security and cost in solution designs.
  • Collaborate with developers, Product Owners and business stakeholders.
  • Contribute to architectural roadmaps, technical reviews and Agile delivery.
  • Leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate technical discovery and solution design.

What we're looking for
  • 5+ years' experience in software engineering or technical roles.
  • 2+ years' experience in solution or application architecture.
  • Strong hands-on AWS solution design experience.
  • Solid programming knowledge, ideally C# / .NET Core.
  • Understanding of microservices, event-driven architecture and API integrations.
  • Experience working across modern cloud platforms and legacy applications.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A pragmatic, collaborative approach to architecture and delivery.

What's in it for you?
  • Hybrid working – 3 days in the office, including Friday and two other days aligned with your team.
  • Opportunity to stay technically hands-on while growing your architectural influence.
  • Work on business-critical platforms with real operational impact.
  • Exposure to modern AWS, cloud-native and AI-assisted engineering practices.
  • Supportive, collaborative team with ongoing learning and development opportunities.

If you're an architect who enjoys solving complex technical problems, getting into the code and seeing your designs come to life, we'd love to hear from you.
