Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines on 3rd shift for a medical device manufacturer, writing and editing G-code/M-code programs in Mastercam/SolidWorks, machining tight-tolerance parts in stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, and plastics, and ensuring quality through precision inspection and prove-outs.

What You’ll Do

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines
  • Read and interpret blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and technical data
  • Write, edit, and adjust CNC programs (G‑code / M‑code) using Mastercam, SolidWorks, or similar software
  • Perform complex machining operations including milling, drilling, boring, and tight‑tolerance work
  • Select, preset, and install cutting tools; calculate feeds, speeds, depths, and coolant flow
  • Conduct prove‑outs and manual programming during setups
  • Troubleshoot machine issues, program errors, tooling problems, and out‑of‑tolerance conditions
  • Machine challenging materials including stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, and plastics
  • Inspect parts using precision gauges to ensure quality and regulatory compliance
  • Train and induct operators after proven setups are complete
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and assist with repairs as needed
  • Maintain clear documentation and shift handoff notes
  • Keep machines, tools, and work areas clean, safe, and audit‑ready

What We’re Looking For

  • 7–10 years of CNC machining, setup, and programming experience (or equivalent)
  • Strong experience with Milling, Turning, and Swiss machining
  • Advanced ability to read and apply GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
  • Proven experience adjusting programs and tooling independently
  • Deep understanding of cutters, inserts, and tool selection based on material and tolerances
  • Knowledge of G‑codes, M‑codes, and CAM software (Mastercam preferred)
  • Experience in medical or regulated manufacturing strongly preferred
  • Associate degree or technical training helpful—but experience matters most
  • Strong communication skills and a calm, solution‑oriented mindset
