CNC Programmer (Mill)
Compensation: $30/hr. and up Depending on Experience and/or Formal Training

Required Skills/Knowledge:
- Translate engineering drawings and blueprints into efficient CNC programs and toolpaths using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360) and G-code
- Strong experience with CAM software and manual G-code editing
- Configure 3-axis or multi-axis milling machines, install tooling, set offsets, and determine proper workholding fixtures.
- Run test pieces (first-run validation) and debug programs to improve cycle times, minimize tool wear, and prevent errors
- Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers to ensure strict adherence to specifications
- Perform routine machine upkeep, replace worn tools, and provide technical guidance to machine operators
Additional Skills/Knowledge that would be a plus:
- Ability to read complex blueprints, schematics, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Solid foundation in shop math, geometry, and trigonometry for calculating tool paths and coordinates
- Typically, 1 to 5+ years of hands-on CNC programming and mill operation experience in a manufacturing environment
- High school diploma or GED; technical certifications, vocational training, or an associate degree in precision machining or engineering is frequently preferred
