CNC Programmer/Operator-Swiss
- Program, set up and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, milling, etc. that create processes capable of generating stable quality and cycle times.
- Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, customer specifications, etc.
- Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.
- Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors and automated controls.
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines.
- Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications.
- Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result.
- Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly.
- Provide recommendations for Preventive Maintenance of the machinery to ensure proper functionality and coolant levels and avoid unnecessary catastrophic failure.
- Complete all documents associated with production.
- Provide training and oversight of machinists to prevent damage, through carelessness, to the equipment or process used in the performance of the job.
- Follow Marle’s safety and environmental procedures.
- Follow written and verbal directions from manager and company officers.
- Work with all departments to aid as necessary.
- Perform non-routine tasks assigned by manager and/or company officers.
- Associate’s degree or trade course certificate from a two-year college or technical school;
- 3+ years of work experience as a machinist with programming responsibilities;
- equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Trade Knowledge: Ability to read complicated drawings and specifications.
Other Skills & Abilities: Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Mastercam or SolidWorks. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
