Coder Inpatient

Inpatient coder with a minimum of 5 years of experience coding for an acute care teaching and trauma level 1 facility. Must be experienced in coding trauma and complex medical cases and surgical procedures across a wide range of specialties including but limited to cardiac, vascular, interventional radiology, spinal, neurosurgery, neurology, transplants, oncology, oral surgery, orthopedics, psyche/behavioral medicines, OB/GYN, neonatal, pediatrics, general medicine and general surgery. Must have experience with Cerner and 3M. Must have a RHIA, RHIT, or CCS credential with the appropriate experience listed above. Must be able to work full time. The schedule can be flexible after initial training with reason. 1 weekend day a week required. Prefer the majority of the shift between 8am and 5pm EST but can be more flexible within reason

1. Minimum 2 years credentialed experience, 5+ years coding experience with acute care teaching and trauma level 1 facilities
2. Experience coding medical and surgical cases for cardiac, vascular, interventional radiology, spinal, neurosurgery, neurology, transplants, oncology, oral surgery, orthopedics, psyche/behavioral medicines, OB/GYN, neonatal, pediatrics, general medicine and general surgery.
3. RHIA, RHIT or CCS credential
4. Experience with Cerner and 3M
5. Able to code 10 complex cases a day
6. Able to maintain a minimum of 95% accuracy
7. Able to work fulltime (40 hours a week). Schedule can be flexible within reason after initial training.
8. Able to work 1 weekend day a week
9. Good verbal and written communication skills
10. Self-disciplined and self-motivated enough to be successful working in a remote environment with minimum supervision
