Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent with a background in structural steel to oversee field operations on self-storage and commercial projects. This role requires extensive travel to project sites and strong leadership to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily site operations for structural steel erection and related trades
- Coordinate schedules, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain project timelines
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, company policies, and project specifications
- Conduct site inspections and quality checks to maintain workmanship standards
- Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and clients
- Solve problems proactively and keep projects moving forward
- Maintain accurate daily reports, project documentation, and progress updates
Qualifications
- 5+ years of superintendent or foreman experience in structural steel/construction
- Strong knowledge of steel erection, drawings/blueprints, and site safety practices
- Proven ability to manage crews and subcontractors effectively
- Willingness to travel extensively to job sites (home on weekends when possible)
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- OSHA certification (preferred)
