Commissioning Engineer - Medium-Voltage Switchboards
As a Commissioning Engineer - Medium-Voltage Switchboards, you will provide professional on-site commissioning and technical support services for complex and critical medium-voltage power distribution projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing start-up and commissioning activities across the full medium-voltage product range.
- Assessing the installation and operational condition of equipment and complete systems.
- Carrying out on-site adjustments to optimise equipment performance.
- Conducting root cause analysis to identify quality, software or operating-condition issues.
- Supporting site interventions alongside other service engineers and technical partners.
- Documenting test results and preparing site intervention reports.
- Providing customers with basic training on equipment operation.
- Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on medium-voltage equipment.
- Electrotechnical qualification; a university degree is an advantage.
- At least 5 years of experience in commissioning and/or field service activities.
- Confirmed experience with medium-voltage power distribution systems and switchboards.
- Good knowledge of Schneider Electric systems or equivalent products from other manufacturers.
- Knowledge of protection relays, automation fundamentals and medium-voltage electrical principles is a strong advantage.
- Ability to work independently, analyse technical challenges and propose effective solutions.
- Strong electrical and mechanical hands-on skills, including the use of measurement and diagnostic tools.
- Fluent English is mandatory, with a minimum B2 level.
- Flexible, reliable and customer-focused, with strong attention to technical detail and a collaborative mindset.
- Good command of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, AutoCAD and power-system commissioning software.
- Experience with Schneider Electric product or quivalent from other manufacturers would be an advantage.
- Place of work: Finland, Denmark, Norway, Spain and Germany.
- Working schedule: Rotation of 3 weeks on / 1 week off.
- Starting date: ASAP.
- Duration of the assignment: 1 to 2 years.
- The position requires extensive international travel, representing approximately 70% or more of working time.
- Full compliance with applicable HSE policies, procedures and technical standards is mandatory.
- The successful candidate must be capable of managing multiple technical assignments simultaneously and carrying out commissioning and maintenance activities with a high degree of autonomy.
