Community Relations Officer | Logan Water
The opportunity
We currently have an opportunity for a Community and Stakeholder Engagement Officer to join our team supporting water infrastructure projects. In this role, you will develop and deliver communication and stakeholder engagement strategies that help maintain strong relationships with communities, customers, project teams and key stakeholders while supporting the successful delivery of critical infrastructure programs.
This position involves a combination of office-based and site-based activities, working closely with project teams, council representatives, residents and business owners. You will coordinate engagement activities, prepare communication materials, manage stakeholder enquiries and support project events and community education initiatives. A White Card will be required after commencement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing community and stakeholder engagement plans for multiple projects
- Preparing and delivering water outage letters and other communication materials as required
- Conducting stakeholder and customer surveys to measure engagement outcomes
- Supporting stakeholder negotiations relating to property access, construction impacts and site restoration
- Managing stakeholder enquiries and complaints and escalating issues where required
- Supporting project events, community engagement activities and education programs
- Providing advice and guidance to project teams on stakeholder engagement strategies and obligations
What we're looking for
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations or a related discipline
- More than five years' experience in corporate communications and community engagement roles
- Experience working within multidisciplinary project environments
- Experience supporting water, utilities, infrastructure or civil construction projects
- Strong written, verbal and organisational skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and resolve challenging stakeholder issues
- A proactive and collaborative approach with a strong focus on building positive relationships
- Commitment to safety and alignment with Zero Harm principles
Experience working within the water industry or infrastructure delivery environment will be highly regarded.
