Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Computer Lab Coordinator to manage and oversee the lab work of undergraduate students enrolled in the AI & Data for Climate Honours Degree program. You will manage the lab end to end and oversee student work on modules including Data Science, AI/ML, and advanced AI applications, ensuring students gain practical skills and industry readiness.

About the Program:

This role is part of Project Mahathi, a pioneering initiative by Climate Collective Foundation and Mahathi Degree College. The program offers a first-of-its-kind AI & Data for Climate 4th Year Honours Degree, designed to equip students from low-income, Tier 2 backgrounds with cutting-edge skills in climate technology, data science, and artificial intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

· Responsible for managing and maintaining all the computers in the lab.
· Conduct daily checks of the computers
· Troubleshoot any technical issues related to the hardware and software
· Provide comprehensive assistance to students aligned with the tools related to the curriculum modules, including:

Data Science Fundamentals & Python
AI & Machine Learning Intro
Advanced ML, Generative AI & LLMs
Data Visualization & Dashboards

· Provide hands-on mentorship to a cohort of 50+ students from low-income, Tier 2 backgrounds
· Support students’ technical understanding and problem-solving during labs
· Track and evaluate student progress; provide constructive feedback
· Collaborate with program leadership to continuously improve training content and delivery
· Assist with preparing students for internships and capstone projects

Requirements

Qualifications

Education:

· Minimum: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
· Relevant certifications in Python, AI/ML frameworks, or geospatial tools are a plus.

Technical Expertise:

· Preferred experience in Python programming and key data science libraries (pandas, scikit-learn, matplotlib).
· Experience with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch.
· Basic understanding of cloud platforms and version control (Git) is desirable.

Experience

At least 2 years of experience of end to end management and maintenance of a computer lab in an educational institute is desired
Experience with guiding Bachelor and Masters level students in topics related to Data and AI

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to explain complex technical topics to diverse learners.
· Strong mentorship and student engagement skills.
· Passion for inclusive education and working with under-resourced student communities.
· Collaborative mindset and adaptability to interdisciplinary teamwork.
