We're looking for a Conference and Events Operations Manager who can run a flawless event without breaking a sweat and make every client feel like they got something truly one-of-a-kind. If you know your BEOs inside out, love the buzz of a full venue and take real pride in delivering experiences that go beyond the brief, this one's for you.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the day-to-day operations of all conference and event spaces at QT Melbourne, ensuring seamless execution from initial enquiry through to post-event follow up across every function.Direct, supervise and coordinate all operational activities across the events department, driving a high-performance team culture focused on service excellence and continuous improvement.Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while actively identifying new function business opportunities to grow the events portfolio.Control departmental expenses within budgeted targets, ensure accurate statistical records and reporting are maintained, and cultivate a sales culture focused on upselling and on-selling at every opportunity.Coordinate communication between the events team and all other hotel departments, ensuring flawless preparation and follow-up for every event in the calendar.Conduct site inspections, maintain stock levels across all event spaces and ensure all charges are correctly posted to the relevant accounts.Champion a culture of quality through shift checklists, procedural reviews and the implementation of service standards, and ensure all incidents, hazards and corrective actions are reported and addressed promptly.What You'll BringPrevious experience in a conference and events role within a hotel environment is essential.A proven ability to manage multiple events simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and service standards.Strong leadership skills with experience directing and developing a front-of-house events team.Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to build genuine rapport with clients and internal stakeholders alike.A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to anticipate and resolve issues before they impact the guest experience.Full knowledge of venue IT and POS systems, with the ability to quickly become conversant across all hotel platforms.Flexibility to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends and public holidays as event schedules demand.How You WorkDaymaker ethos, no one's too big for the small things.Owner's mindset, acts on data and feedback to drive continuous improvement.Resilient and solutions-focused, stays calm and moves fast.Hands-on and non-hierarchical, leads from the front.Perks from Day OneAs part of EVT, you unlock Elevate Perks from your first day.
