Construction Project Coordinator (Remote — South Africa)
About the role
Complete CDG is a US construction and development group managing commercial fitouts and ground up residential work in New Jersey. We are hiring a Construction Project Coordinator to work directly with the principal as the document, estimating and scheduling engine behind every active job.
This is a broad, high ownership seat. You will touch estimating and bidding, buyout, submittals, scheduling, designer coordination, and vendor and subcontractor management. If you want to be boxed into one narrow function, this is not the job. If you want to see how a construction company actually runs and grow into a senior project management role, it is.
You will be working on American projects, in American units, to American drawing conventions. We will teach you the conventions. We will not teach you how to read a drawing.
What you will do
Estimating
- Assemble bid packages and issue invitations to bid
- Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications, in imperial units
- Level and compare subcontractor quotes; identify scope gaps and exclusions
- Confirm scope directly with vendors — do not assume
Document control and project management
- Track submittals, RFIs, shop drawings and closeout documentation
- Maintain project files, logs and version control
- Track drawing revisions and get the current set to the field and the trades
- Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes and action items
Scheduling
- Build and maintain project schedules and two week lookaheads
- Track long lead items, material deliveries and trade sequencing
- Flag slippage and schedule risk early, in writing
Coordination
- Coordinate with architects, engineers and design consultants
- Help resolve conflicts between architectural, structural and MEP documents
- Serve as written point of contact for vendors and subs
- Track contracts, insurance certificates, change orders and pay applications
- Chase outstanding quotes, submittals and documentation until they land
Reports to: Principal / Owner
Compensation: Competitive salary depending on experience
What we offer
- Direct mentorship and a daily working relationship with the company principal
- Exposure to the full project lifecycle, from estimating through closeout
- Clear path to a senior project management role as the company grows
- Full employment through Pebl, with South African statutory benefits, medical contribution and leave
- 21 days annual leave plus South African public holidays
- Laptop, Bluebeam and Microsoft 365 licences provided
- Monthly allowance for backup power, fiber and mobile data
How to apply
Submit your CV. Portfolio or work samples welcome but not required. Shortlisted candidates complete a paid three hour work sample before any interview with the principal.
