Job purpose

This role extends beyond clerical or routine administrative support. It requires independent legal and commercial judgment to advise internal stakeholders, interpret contractual terms and commercial implications, and negotiate directly with the company’s customers. Additional responsibilities include review, redlining, drafting, updating, and maintaining standard contract forms, templates, and provisions; maintaining accurate contract files, record-keeping, as well as other duties as assigned.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Ability to manage the full contract lifecycle for complex agreements, including reviewing and redlining contractual terms, providing comments and recommendations, and evaluating proposed revisions across various contractual provisions to ensure alignment with the company’s risk profile, policies, and procedures.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks throughout the negotiation process, with a focus on optimizing financial and operational performance, limiting the company’s legal and financial exposure, and ensuring alignment with the company’s risk tolerance and business objectives.
  • Lead and coordinate the end-to-end contract review and approval process, including preparing contract summaries, interpreting key legal and commercial provisions, and providing stakeholders with actionable insights to facilitate well informed decision-making.
  • Maintain electronic contract files, including all amendments, correspondence and any other relevant documents affecting the life cycle of the contract.
  • Organize and maintain contract files, reports and logs established by the department.
  • Perform and/or assist with various projects, tasks, and responsibilities as needed.
