Exceptional Hospitality Starts with You

Picture yourself brightening someone’s day. When you join our Hotels team, that’s exactly what you’ll do every time you come to work! As a Controller, you’re not just ensuring financial data accuracy and compliance – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest.

Here's what you'll do during a typical day:

  • Oversee financial compliance: Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and implement internal controls to safeguard hotel assets
  • Manage financial planning and analysis: Prepare the annual plan, projections, and budgets, providing key insights and counsel to hotel management, corporate offices, and ownership
  • Monitor and approve transactions: Review and authorize hotel sales, purchases, salaries, and expenses to ensure financial integrity and cost control
  • Advise hotel leadership: Assist department heads in interpreting financial data and recommend strategies to maximize profitability
  • Inspire and develop the team: Supervise, coach, and mentor team members; conduct performance evaluations, provide professional development opportunities, and recognize achievements to build, retain, and engage a high-performing team

In Addition:

  • Runs the accounting operation and monthly close.

  • Owns the day-to-day accuracy and completeness of the accounting records.

  • Personally prepares and reviews key accounting work.

  • Directs the Finance team’s daily execution.

  • Maintains accounting procedures, reconciliations, and financial controls.

  • Coordinates and prepares significant portions of budgets and forecasts.

  • Develops detailed variance analysis and works with department leaders.

  • Coordinates execution of capital-accounting, audit, tax, and compliance processes.

  • Identifies financial or control issues and presents findings and recommendations to the Director of Finance.

Progressive accounting or Finance experience with significant exposure to hotel financial operations. Prior supervisory or management experience in accounting or Finance strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience with month-end close, journal entries, accruals, balance-sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
