Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and menu requirements.
- Perform food preparation tasks such as washing, cutting, chopping, seasoning, and portioning ingredients.
- Ensure all dishes are cooked properly and meet quality and presentation standards.
- Check the freshness and quality of ingredients before cooking.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, kitchen area, and cooking equipment.
- Store food items properly to maintain freshness and prevent contamination.
- Monitor food temperatures and cooking times to ensure safety and quality.
- Assist with receiving, checking, and storing food supplies.
- Minimize food waste through proper handling and portion control.
- Support senior cooks and chefs during food preparation and service.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any faults or maintenance issues.
- Follow daily kitchen schedules and instructions from supervisors.
- Assist with cleaning duties, including utensils, equipment, and work areas.
- Maintain a positive and cooperative working relationship with kitchen team members.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Cook or Kitchen Assistant is preferred.
- Knowledge of basic cooking methods and food preparation techniques.
- Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Good teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
