Corporate Quality Manager

Overview:
The Corporate Quality Manager will play a key role in leading and overseeing quality control activities, ensuring the highest standards of product quality, accuracy, and compliance with industry regulations and project requirements. You will be overseeing the welding quality requirements for Sure Steel Inc. and Summit Steel LLC. This role will sit out of our Portland, OR office. You must have your CWI and would be nice if you have your Certified Construction Quality Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Assurance Leadership:
- Lead and supervise a team of quality control inspectors, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure effective execution of quality control activities.
- Develop and implement quality control strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance product quality, streamline processes, and optimize efficiency.
- Act as a subject matter expert on quality control methodologies, standards, and best practices, providing technical expertise and guidance to cross-functional teams.
2. Inspection and Testing:
- Conduct comprehensive inspections and testing of fabricated steel components and structures to verify compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and quality control requirements.
- Utilize advanced inspection techniques and equipment, including non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT), and dye penetrant testing (PT), to assess weld quality and integrity.
- Perform thorough dimensional checks and material testing to ensure dimensional accuracy, material properties, and conformance to engineering drawings and specifications.
3. Quality Management Systems:
- Implement and maintain quality management systems (QMS) to ensure effective control and documentation of quality-related processes, procedures, and records.
- Conduct internal audits and assessments to verify compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications, and initiate corrective actions as needed.
- Facilitate external audits and certifications to demonstrate compliance with industry regulations, codes, and standards, and ensure alignment with customer expectations.
4. Continuous Improvement:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality performance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction throughout the organization.
- Analyze quality data, trends, and metrics to identify opportunities for process optimization, defect prevention, and waste reduction, and implement corrective and preventive actions accordingly.
- Foster a culture of quality excellence and continuous improvement by promoting awareness, accountability, and participation in quality initiatives across all levels of the organization.
