Corporate Secretary

Triodos Bank is a frontrunner in ethical banking and global impact investing. We believe money can change the world for the better — our organisation was founded on that belief.

Support the Management Board of Triodos Investment Management (TIM) in a role where governance, preparation and clear decision-making come together. You will work directly with the three Management Board members and help them use their time effectively. This is a 32–36-hour role in an international impact-investing organisation.

How you will make a difference

You will help us to 'change finance to finance change', by enabling the Management Board to make well-prepared decisions and focus on the work that matters most.

Day to day, you will:

  • prepare, facilitate and minute the weekly meetings of the Management Board (MB)
  • coordinate and prepare meeting materials, follow up action items and communicate decisions internally
  • keep the rolling agenda of MB meetings up to date from a legal and corporate governance perspective
  • review cover notes to memos and/or presentations to be tabled at MB meetings, enhancing the quality of the decision-making process during the meetings
  • prepare and facilitate meetings between the MB, the Executive Board and Group Directors of Triodos Bank
  • identify issues that could affect the MB’s work, and bring forward proposals to resolve or mitigate them
  • prepare and facilitate monthly leadership meetings and quarterly manager meetings
  • participate in the committee that organises weekly organisation-wide meetings at Triodos
  • help build a secretary community within Triodos

Your future colleagues

You will work directly with the three members of the Management Board of Triodos IM. You will also work closely with the Management Assistant to the Management Board. You will report to the Head of Product & Project Management.

Beyond your direct team, you will work with the Executive Board, Group Directors of Triodos Bank, the Management Council and managers across Triodos IM.

What you will bring

Your unique potential and your values matter most to us. We look for people who are self-aware and who think in a broad, connected way, always conscious of their impact on society, the environment, and the economy. To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • relevant experience as a corporate secretary, product manager or in-house legal officer; or experience in the financial industry, preferably asset management
  • motivation to work closely with senior leadership on corporate-governance-related work
  • the ability to work and think at an academic level
  • an interest in corporate governance
  • stakeholder-management capability within an organisation
  • integrity, organisational sensitivity and an understanding of governance relationships
  • the ability to work with highly confidential information
  • the ability to organise work, set priorities and work effectively under pressure
  • availability to work on Fridays to prepare the MB meeting on Monday
  • Professional proficiency in English and Dutch (spoken and written)

We consider it a plus, if you have:

  • an interest in, or experience using, AI in corporate secretary or legal advisory work

You do not need to bring all of these. If you meet what the role needs above and some of this list, please do apply.

Just as important is how you work. In terms of soft skills and behaviours, you will:

  • create clear preparation, follow-up and communication around Management Board decisions, so colleagues and stakeholders can act on them effectively
  • keep the Management Board’s work connected to Triodos IM’s purpose and its ambition to make impact the standard in investing
