Transport Enterprise Leasing (TEL) is seeking an experienced Credit Manager to play a critical role in evaluating, managing, and mitigating credit risk across our lease and loan portfolio. This position combines analytical rigor, business judgment, and relationship management to support profitable growth while protecting the company's assets.

As a Credit Manager, you'll work closely with sales teams, executive leadership, customers, attorneys, and financial partners to assess credit opportunities, manage portfolio performance, and develop solutions for complex credit and collection matters. What You'll Do
Credit Underwriting & Risk Assessment
  • Analyze financial statements, cash flow, and other credit information to evaluate creditworthiness and transaction risk.
  • Review third-party credit reports, safety reports, insurance documentation, and related information to identify and mitigate risk.
  • Prepare clear, concise written and verbal credit recommendations highlighting key strengths, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Present credit analyses and recommendations to TEL's Credit Committee and executive leadership.
Portfolio Management & Collections
  • Manage a segment of TEL's lease and loan portfolio.
  • Monitor customer performance and proactively address emerging credit concerns.
  • Maintain accurate reporting on current, delinquent, reserved, and charged-off accounts.
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Operations, and Sales to resolve billing disputes and customer issues.
  • Work directly with distressed customers to negotiate favorable resolutions and maximize recoveries.
Legal & Special Assets Administration
  • Support workout strategies and collection efforts for troubled accounts.
  • Coordinate with attorneys and external professionals regarding collections and creditor rights matters.
  • Review legal invoices and collection-related expenses.
  • Assist with litigation matters, including preparation of affidavits and supporting documentation.
  • Represent TEL in legal proceedings when necessary and appear in court as required.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Continuous Improvement
  • Partner closely with Sales, Operations, Accounting, and Executive Leadership teams.
  • Maintain strong pipeline management of lease and loan opportunities through the underwriting process.
  • Identify process improvements and support TEL's continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute ideas that improve efficiency, enhance customer service, and strengthen risk management practices.
Qualifications needed for the role
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Seven (7)+ years of experience in commercial credit, equipment finance, special assets management, collections, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of financial statement analysis and credit risk assessment.
  • Experience managing distressed assets, collections, workouts, and creditor rights matters.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including working with large data sets, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and related functions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts for various audiences.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to effectively manage multiple priorities.
Preferred
  • Certified Lease & Finance Professional (CLFP) designation.
  • Experience within the equipment finance, leasing, or commercial lending industry.
  • Knowledge of capital markets, syndications, and equipment finance transaction structures.
Additional Information
  • This position is based at TEL's corporate headquarters and works in a professional office environment. No travel is required.
  • We offer a competitive salary range of $75,000 to $95,000 with compensation tailored to reflect your experience, expertise and the value you bring to the role.
