Credit Risk Analyst

Summary

Review SME loan applications, assess creditworthiness, and recommend decisions to balance growth and portfolio quality.

The Credit Risk Analyst will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing SME loan applications to deliver accurate credit decisions in line with established credit policies and underwriting standards. The ideal candidate must possess strong analytical skills and prior experience in loan assessment and risk evaluation.

The role will involve analyzing loan applications, identifying potential credit risks, monitoring portfolio performance, and supporting the business in making sound lending decisions while maintaining a balance between business growth and portfolio quality.



Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze loan applications and supporting documents
  • Assess borrowers’ creditworthiness and repayment capacity
  • Make recommendations in line with credit policy and underwriting standards
  • Liaise with Field Verification Officers and Risk Team on loan-related issues
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of loan documentation
  • Maintain proper records and support process improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years experience in loan underwriting, credit analysis, or related role
• Prior experience performing similar functions is required
• Experience in the banking or financial services industry is an added advantage
• Excellent communication, documentation and reporting skills
• Great knowledge of risk control and a good sense of industry research.
