CREWING EXECUTIVE
Summary
Oversee crew administration, recruitment, payroll, and regulatory compliance for a maritime fleet, ensuring adherence to international maritime labor laws and STCW standards.
• Crew Administration: Oversee all aspects of crew personnel administration, ensuring proper documentation, scheduling, and crew movement plans are followed.
• Employment Disputes: Resolve employment-related disputes with seafarers and their representatives, ensuring smooth resolution and compliance with maritime labor laws.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the fleet complies with all maritime regulations, including those from MPA, ICA, ILO, Flag Administrations, and seamen’s unions.
• Manning Developments: Stay abreast of manning requirements and developments within the maritime industry, including changes from ILO, Flag Administrations, shipowners' unions, and other representative bodies.
• Crew Recruitment & Selection: Oversee the selection, recruitment, and onboarding of all seafarers in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Certification Management: Manage sourcing and coordination to ensure crew members hold valid certifications in line with STCW and other international standards.
• Crew Welfare & Payroll: Address crew welfare concerns and manage payroll administration, ensuring timely and accurate compensation and benefits.
• Training & Certification: Maintain crew training records and ensure ongoing compliance with required qualifications and certifications.
• Reporting: Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports on crew performance, compliance, and welfare matters to the Director.
Ad-Hoc Duties: Perform additional tasks relating to marine/crewing/HR as required by the department.
• Strong understanding of maritime labor laws and international regulations (e.g., ILO, STCW, MPA, ICA).
• Proven ability to handle dispute resolution and liaise effectively with seafarers, unions, and representatives.
• Excellent knowledge of crewing software and crew management systems.
• Strong communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes.
