Reporting to the Group Data & AI Manager, we are seeking a Data & AI Engineer who will support the development, operation, and continuous improvement of our Data & Analytics Platform while contributing to the next generation of AI-enabled products and solutions.
The Role
You will:
Build and maintain data pipelines that transform source-system data into trusted, reusable datasets
Develop queries and data models that support reporting, applications, and business decision-making
Implement testing, monitoring, data-quality checks, and documentation throughout the development lifecycle
Support the delivery of reporting solutions that provide meaningful insights across the Group
Create and maintain reliable datasets for business intelligence and analytics initiatives
Contribute to AI engineering initiatives, including integrations, knowledge services, and agent-facing capabilities
Assist with the development of web applications and platform solutions as your technical capability grows
Apply engineering best practices, including version control, code reviews, pull requests, CI/CD, and change management
Support platform reliability through troubleshooting, incident investigation, and continuous improvement
Use AI developer tools to explore, test, validate, and improve engineering solutions
Apply responsible AI practices while maintaining appropriate governance, security, and quality standards
Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions
Participate in ongoing platform enhancements that improve data accessibility, reporting capability, and operational efficiency
Continuously develop your technical skills while contributing to a live, enterprise-scale platform
About You
This role is designed for a recent graduate, or someone in the first few years of their career, who is ready to work on a live platform and learn quickly. You will bring:
A relevant degree, or equivalent early-career experience, in computer science, data, software engineering, or a related field
Foundational knowledge of SQL, Python, and core data concept
Experience using Git or other version control systems through study, personal projects, internships, or previous work
Strong analytical and problem-solving skill
An interest in how data, systems, and technology support business outcomes
The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and explain your approach to solving problem
A practical approach to quality and a willingness to learn through feedback
A collaborative mindset and a genuine enthusiasm for continuous learning
The following experience would be highly regarded:
Exposure to Azure or other cloud platforms
Experience with Power BI, APIs, data modelling, testing, CI/CD, or software development practices
Internship, portfolio, academic, or personal projects demonstrating end-to-end development experience
Experience using AI developer tools to build, test, and improve solutions
An interest in the construction, property, or project-based industries
