The Information Technology Division plays a critical role in supporting ACER's strategic objectives through the delivery of secure, scalable and innovative technology solutions. The Data Services team develops and maintains modern data platforms, reporting solutions and automation capabilities that enable data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Software Engineer – Data Solutions to join our Data Services team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
In this role, you will contribute to the design, development and maintenance of data solutions, cloud-based platforms, automation workflows and business intelligence applications. Working closely with technical specialists and stakeholders, you will help deliver robust and scalable data systems that support ACER's operational and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain data solutions, reports and software applications
Support the implementation and maintenance of cloud-based data platforms and automation workflows
Contribute to data integration, data management and ETL processes
Develop and enhance Power BI reporting and business intelligence solutions
Support deployment processes, pipelines and system automation activities
Participate in requirements gathering, solution design and client handover activities
Contribute to testing, quality assurance and technical documentation
Work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver business solutions
Maintain high standards of data engineering, security and data quality
Support continuous improvement initiatives and emerging technology adoption
What You'll Bring
Degree qualification in Computer Science, Data Science or a related discipline
Experience designing and implementing solutions using Microsoft 365 and Azure technologies
Strong Power BI skills, including data modelling, DAX and dashboard development
Proficiency in Python, SQL, R and modern data processing tools
Experience designing, developing and supporting data systems and integrations
Understanding of ETL processes and data architecture principles
Experience creating technical and operational documentation
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
A strong commitment to quality, continuous improvement and customer service
