We are looking for an experienced Data Modeler to join a large-scale banking environment, focusing on data governance, model documentation, and standards compliance. This role is ideal for professionals who enjoy working within structured governance frameworks, ensuring data consistency, quality, and reusability across business domains.

The position is execution and governance oriented, involving the maintenance, documentation, and controlled evolution of data models while collaborating closely with Data Custodians, Data Office teams, DBAs, and IT stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

Data Model Maintenance & Documentation

  • Maintain and update conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Ensure domain data models and diagrams remain accurate, complete, and up to date.
  • Document entities, attributes, relationships, constraints, dependencies, and naming conventions.
  • Support knowledge sharing by maintaining clear and structured model documentation.

Governance & Standards Alignment

  • Apply and enforce existing data modeling standards, governance processes, and validation workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with data quality, security, and governance requirements.
  • Collaborate with Data Custodians to align business definitions and model updates.
  • Prevent data redundancy and ensure consistency across data domains.

Coordination & Change Management

  • Coordinate data model evolution with Data Custodians, Data Office teams, DBAs, and IT implementation teams.
  • Track progress of requested model changes and manage dependencies.
  • Facilitate stakeholder synchronization and ensure changes are implemented according to established governance processes.
  • Participate in recurring follow-up meetings and governance reviews.

Controlled Model Evolution

  • Support the evolution of existing data models while respecting governance rules, validation requirements, and architectural constraints.
  • Propose improvements where appropriate while ensuring alignment with established standards.


Technical Skills

  • Strong experience in Data Modeling within a structured IT environment.
  • Solid understanding of: Relational data models, Entities and attributes, Primary and foreign keys, Constraints and dependencies
  • Data model documentation practices
  • Good knowledge of SQL.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience maintaining and documenting existing data models.
  • Knowledge of UML or similar modeling methodologies is considered a plus.
  • Experience with Erwin Data Modeler or equivalent modeling tools is highly desirable.


Functional Skills

  • Strong understanding of Data Governance principles and modeling standards.
  • Experience working within governance frameworks, validation workflows, and structured processes.
  • Banking sector experience is mandatory.
