Data Architect

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain Azure-based reference architectures using Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, ADLS Gen2, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and Purview.
  
• Lead enterprise data modeling initiatives, including Lakehouse, Data Vault, Dimensional (Kimball), and OLTP architectures.
  
• Architect and oversee ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Spark, dbt, and Airflow.
  
• Lead large-scale data migration projects across SQL Server, MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and cloud platforms.
  
• Build and deliver Data Readiness for AI solutions, including data quality, governance, lineage, cataloging, and master data management.
  
• Partner with AI teams to develop scalable data layers for AI/ML, RAG, vector search, and training datasets.
  
• Establish governance, data quality, security, and compliance standards using Microsoft Purview.
  
• Support presales activities, solution architecture, client workshops, proposals, and SOW creation.
  
• Lead and mentor data engineering teams while driving innovation and best practices.
  

Required Skills

• Strong expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, ADLS Gen2, Cosmos DB, and Microsoft Purview.
  
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server, MariaDB/MySQL, PostgreSQL, and enterprise data migrations.
  
• Deep knowledge of Data Modeling, Lakehouse Architecture, Data Vault, and Dimensional Modeling.
  
• Experience with Spark, Airflow, dbt, Kafka, Debezium, and data quality frameworks.
  
• Knowledge of AI/ML data preparation, vector embeddings, RAG architectures, and feature engineering.
  
• Experience with Terraform/Bicep, CI/CD, and cloud-native data platform operations.
  
• Strong client-facing, leadership, and presales experience.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate, Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert certifications.
  
• Experience in regulated industries (HIPAA, SOC 2, PCI, Financial Services).
  
• Background in consulting/services organizations and multi-client architecture environments.
  
• Contributions to open-source data engineering or AI/ML projects.
