Data Center and Facilities Engineer
About the role
As a Data Center and Facilities Engineer, you will be responsible for the efficient and reliable operation of the company's data center and supporting infrastructure. You will play a critical role in ensuring the company's technology systems remain online and secure, contributing to the overall success of the business.
What you'll be doing
Manage and maintain the data center environment, including power, cooling, and physical security systems
Monitor and troubleshoot hardware and software issues to ensure optimal performance of the company's IT infrastructure
Implement and maintain robust backup and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard critical data
Collaborate with the IT team to plan and execute projects that improve the scalability, resilience, and efficiency of the data center
Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for data center operations
Provide on-call support and respond to emergency situations as needed
Document and maintain detailed records of all data center activities and configurations
What we're looking for
Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a data center or facilities engineer
Strong technical knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, and physical security systems
Proficient in monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining server, network, and storage equipment
Expertise in implementing and maintaining backup and disaster recovery solutions
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve issues
Familiarity with industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements for data center operations
Ability to work independently, as well as collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills to liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders
