Job Description
Perform day‑to‑day operation and maintenance of all the various facilities systems at StarHub Data Centres and Offices, such as Generators, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), DC Rectifier System, Static Transfer Switch (STS), Fire Protection System, Building Management System, HT/LT electrical system, all ACMV systems, etc.
Ensure the routine maintenance of the facilities systems are carried out according to planned schedule and contracted scope of work.
Plan, call and evaluate tenders, and project‑manage any expansion projects to cater for users’ requirements.
Ensure strict security system is enforced at the StarHub Data Centres and Offices by managing the physical and electronic security systems (eg card access, CCTV surveillance, Visitor Tracking).
Carry out customer‑related work orders within the customer’s requested Ready for Service (RFS) date.
Maintain records and update all M&E, building and schematic drawings of the facilities in and security of the estates under our care.
Conduct regular checks of the premises for potential safety hazards and unsafe conditions, initiate corrective measures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment, in compliance with prevailing legislative and regulatory requirements.
Manage new leases and timely renewal of existing ones, covering offices, shops and technical sites:
Negotiate with building owners, manage LOIs and agreements, follow‑up with all related administration matters.
Conduct regular meetings with respective business units.
Monitor current industry rental rates.
Liaise with relevant authorities to ensure the leases comply with authorities’ requirements, if any.
Liaise with internal business units (eg Legal, Finance, Business Units) for any changes of lease terms, rental and service fees, property tax, etc.
Liaise with external tenants in StarHub’s owned premises, including the generation of billing invoices to tenants.
Ensure timely handover/takeover of premises to/from building owners.
Carry out risk assessments and management.
Perform 24 x 7 standby duties, respond to and rectify all situations.
Carried out any other assignments from the management.
Qualifications
Appropriate qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Telecommunications or Facilities Management with at least 2 years of work experience in facilities area, particularly in a Data Centre environment.
Candidates with 2 to 3 years of experience in supporting facilities operations & maintenance in a Data Centre environment are preferred.
Fresh Diploma graduates with a positive attitude and willingness to work in a start‑up environment are welcome to apply.
Good understanding and hands‑on servicing experience in all facilities systems and building maintenance.
Possesses Class 3 Driving Lesson (Manual Gear).
Basic networking, broadband access and structural cabling is a plus.
Computer literate with knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, AutoCAD; able to manage and supervise contractors.
Hands‑on experience in provisioning and configuration of network elements, switches, CPE and services will be an added advantage.
Self‑motivated with strong drive and the willingness to take on challenges.
Good written and oral communication skills, with ability to interact with people of all levels, especially with end customers.
Good working attitude with minimum supervision and ability to perform under pressure.
Possesses initiative and professionalism with the ability to multi‑task.
Service‑oriented manner is essential. Must be a team player coupled with strong communication and problem‑solving skills and able to work independently.
