The opportunity
Birchwell Associates is supporting a growing technology business in the search for a Data Engineer. This position will suit someone who enjoys building dependable data platforms, improving data quality and making information more accessible across a modern organisation.
You will work alongside software, analytics, product and cloud teams to develop reliable data pipelines, strengthen the wider Azure environment and support better commercial decision-making.
What you will be doing
- Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python and SQL.
- Develop and improve data services within a Microsoft Azure environment.
- Integrate data from multiple internal and external sources.
- Improve data quality, reliability and monitoring across the platform.
- Work with analysts and stakeholders to understand reporting and data requirements.
- Contribute to technical standards, documentation and engineering best practice.
What we are looking for
- Commercial experience in data engineering or a closely related role.
- Strong Python and SQL skills.
- Experience with Azure data services or a comparable cloud platform.
- Knowledge of ETL or ELT pipelines, data modelling and warehouse concepts.
- Experience working with version control, testing and deployment processes.
- Clear communication and confidence working with technical and non-technical colleagues.
