Summary
The Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using GCP, Airflow, and dbt to support data-driven decision-making. This role involves ensuring data quality, optimizing performance, and managing data models within a gaming company environment.
As a Data Engineer (all genders), you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing our data infrastructure and pipelines. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of data from various sources to our data warehouse, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
About the role
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to collect, process, and transform large volumes of data.
- Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and database designs to support efficient data retrieval and analysis.
- Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing robust data validation and monitoring mechanisms.
- Optimize data processes and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues and provide timely support to stakeholders.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends related to data engineering and recommend improvements to enhance data infrastructure.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
- Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for data manipulation and automation.
- Strong proficiency in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services including BQ and GCS.
- Experience with Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration and task scheduling.
- In-depth knowledge of dbt for data transformation and modelling
- Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases.
- Solid understanding of Kafka or other streaming platforms for real-time data processing.
- Strong expertise in data warehousing concepts and best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment
