Data Engineer

In this hands-on Data Engineer role you will build and operate modern data pipelines on a Snowflake-dbt-Fivetran-Azure stack, supporting a large-scale data modernisation programme. You will work within a high-velocity delivery team, collaborating across international markets to migrate from legacy SQL Server warehouses. You will own data quality, observability, performance and cost, while embedding tests and CI/CD into production workflows. This is an opportunity to influence a flagship data initiative and shape how the business uses data to drive decisions.

• Build and maintain ingestion pipelines with Fivetran and data transformations with dbt on Snowflake
• Develop and operate data integrations across Azure data services (Function Apps, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Data Factory)
• Support migration and decommissioning of legacy SQL Server warehouses with reconciliation and cutover planning
• Write and maintain tests, integrate them into CI/CD pipelines to prevent production issues
• Own data quality, observability, performance and cost for pipelines
• Participate in peer code reviews, Agile ceremonies and maintain clear technical docs
• Provide on-call support for critical delivery windows or incidents as needed

• 3+ years of commercial data engineering in a modern data stack
• Strong SQL and hands-on experience with a cloud data warehouse (Snowflake preferred)
• Hands-on dbt experience (modeling and testing)
• Experience with an ELT tool like Fivetran
• Working knowledge of Azure data services (Function Apps, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Data Factory)
• Proficiency with Git, CI/CD and PR-based workflows
• Good written and verbal communication, able to work in fast-paced sprints
