Data Engineer

Data Engineer – Johannesburg or Pretoria (Hybrid)

Contract: 6–12 months (project dependent)

Hybrid: 3 days onsite 2 days remote

Our client is looking for experienced Data Engineers to design, build, and maintain scalable enterprise data pipelines that support analytics, AI, and business intelligence.

Minimum Requirements

• 5+ years' Data Engineering experience
• Strong Python and SQL skills
• Experience with Apache Spark
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric
• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, and Denodo
• Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics
• Azure Data Factory experience preferred
• Strong ETL/ELT pipeline development experience
• Experience working with Azure Cloud Data Platforms

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
• Build and optimise enterprise data integrations
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance
• Develop data solutions for analytics, AI, and reporting
• Collaborate with Data Architects, Product Owners, and Analytics teams
• Implement engineering best practices, testing, and automation
