What you'll do

  • Research and apply AI advancements to improve data engineering workflows and pipeline efficiency.
  • Partner with government agencies to identify data challenges and deploy prototype solutions.
  • Gather user feedback from pilot programs to refine and scale technical implementations.
  • Architect scalable data solutions that can be adopted across the Whole-of-Government ecosystem.
  • Coordinate with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to align technical output with governance and regulatory requirements.
  • Define project scopes, evaluate emerging technologies, and provide mentorship to team members for senior-level hires.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of professional experience in data engineering or related roles.
  • Proficiency in system design, data structures, algorithms, data modeling, and storage.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong technical background in Python and SQL, including work with analytical data warehouses.
  • Experience in architecting IT and data systems within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to diverse stakeholders.
  • Willingness to work in an Agile environment and adapt to new domains.

  • Experience working with LLM APIs or AI-assisted engineering workflows.
