What you'll do
- Research and apply AI advancements to improve data engineering workflows and pipeline efficiency.
- Partner with government agencies to identify data challenges and deploy prototype solutions.
- Gather user feedback from pilot programs to refine and scale technical implementations.
- Architect scalable data solutions that can be adopted across the Whole-of-Government ecosystem.
- Coordinate with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to align technical output with governance and regulatory requirements.
- Define project scopes, evaluate emerging technologies, and provide mentorship to team members for senior-level hires.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 to 8 years of professional experience in data engineering or related roles.
- Proficiency in system design, data structures, algorithms, data modeling, and storage.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Strong technical background in Python and SQL, including work with analytical data warehouses.
- Experience in architecting IT and data systems within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information to diverse stakeholders.
- Willingness to work in an Agile environment and adapt to new domains.
