We're looking for a rigorous, product-minded Data Engineer to build the data foundation that powers our platform, models, and insights. You'll design and operate the pipelines, warehouses, and services that turn raw creator, campaign, and social data into a strategic asset.

Role Overview

As Data Engineer, you'll own the data platform at Heylist. You'll design and build ingestion pipelines, model our data warehouse, ship internal data services, and partner with Data Science and Product to power features and analytics. You'll set the standard for reliability, quality, and governance as we scale.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ingestion & Pipelines

  • Design and build data pipelines from internal systems and external APIs (Meta, TikTok, and others)
  • Own reliability, monitoring, and freshness of ingestion workflows
  • Standardize connectors and shared ingestion patterns

2. Warehouse & Modeling

  • Own the data warehouse: schema design, transformations, quality, and freshness
  • Build and evolve semantic models for analytics and product features
  • Improve query performance and cost characteristics

3. Data Services & Productionization

  • Build data services and APIs that power in-product features and analytics
  • Partner with Data Science to productionize features and models
  • Contribute to cloud infrastructure and deployment on Microsoft Azure

4. Quality, Governance & Ops

  • Set standards for data quality, testing, and observability
  • Establish governance practices for sensitive data
  • Support incident response and continuous improvement

What You’ll Own

  • The data platform: ingestion, warehouse, and services
  • Data quality, freshness, and reliability standards
  • Data foundations that unlock product features and analytics

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Data Engineering experience in SaaS or high-volume data environments
  • Strong Python and SQL skills
  • Experience designing and operating data warehouses and ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Comfort with cloud infrastructure (Microsoft Azure)
  • Experience with relational databases (Postgres) and modern data tooling
  • Fluent in English; French is a strong asset

Nice to Have

  • Orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, or similar)
  • Streaming and event-driven architectures
  • dbt and modern warehouse platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery)
  • Terraform and IaC

Success Metrics

  • Pipeline reliability and data freshness
  • Data quality and incident rates
  • Speed at which new sources and models are onboarded
  • Adoption of shared datasets across the company
