Data Engineer, Enterprise Data Platform, AI & Regtech

To critically evaluate data management practices and harness the potential of data engineering within the IT landscape, driving improvements and fostering innovation. The Data Engineer will serve as a pivotal contributor of enhancing and reinforcing data infrastructure capabilities, ensuring data management solutions developed are in line with strategic IT objectives and user engagement is at the forefront throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities：

• Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines to support standardized data structures, seamless integration, and robust exception handling.

• Develop and implement data engineering solutions through code, focusing on automation, and fine-tune database performance to ensure reliability.

• Support initiatives to optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, ensuring efficient data integration and transformation.

• Collaborate with stakeholders across IT, business units, and vendors to gather pipeline requirements and translate them into feasible, high-impact solutions.

• Identify system inefficiencies and evaluate emerging data technologies and tools to enhance data processing capabilities.

• Ensure data infrastructure changes align with organizational policies, standards, and data governance practices.

Requirements :

• University degree or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in data engineering or data architecture.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, adept at simplifying complex IT processes and delivering data-driven solutions.

• Proven track record in data engineering for large-scale projects, preferably within financial institutions or complex organizations.

• In-depth knowledge of end-to-end data within banking systems, with a strong preference for experience in Enterprise Data Warehouse projects.

• Solid hands-on experience in either SQL or Tableau · Solid hands-on experience in Python is a plus

• Database Management or Cloud certification or equivalent is a plus

• Strong communication skills, capable of effectively articulating IT findings and recommendations to a diverse audience.

• Proficiency in capturing and aligning IT business requirements with user needs and organizational objectives.

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Cantonese, with superior verbal and written communication skills.
