Data Engineer II: Envestnet Trivandrum
Summary
Data Engineer II at Envestnet's Trivandrum office (hybrid) building a next-generation enterprise data and analytics platform on AWS. Day-to-day work involves designing ingestion/transformation pipelines, medallion-architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) data models, and data quality controls using SQL, Python, PySpark, Snowflake, dbt, and Airflow.
Envestnet is hiring a Data Engineer II for its Trivandrum office, joining the Data Engineering and Data Strategy team on a full-time hybrid basis. The team is building a next-generation enterprise data and analytics platform in a secure cloud environment, and this role sits at the implementation end: designing pipelines, transformations, data models, and reusable data products that support platform users and business stakeholders.
About Envestnet and the Trivandrum Team
Envestnet is a WealthTech company with roughly $7.0 trillion in platform assets and more than 25 years of history, supporting a large share of financial advisors at banks, wealth managers, brokerages, and RIAs. The Trivandrum office is part of a technology organization that partners with product, operations, and business teams to keep the underlying wealth management platform resilient and aligned with how the business evolves.
The Data Engineering and Data Strategy team you would join is modernizing Envestnet's ingestion and transformation patterns, establishing a canonical Common Data Model, and moving platforms into a medallion architecture with Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers. Governance, data quality, and cross-team delivery discipline are all active workstreams. Kerala's growing pool of data engineers, plus the concentration of financial technology hiring in the Technopark area, makes the role a natural fit for someone who wants deep data platform work without leaving the state. See other business roles listed on Kerala Trade Network for context on how tech openings sit alongside other professional hiring here.
Core Responsibilities
- Deliver end-to-end data and analytics capabilities across data modeling, ingestion, transformation, orchestration, testing, and production support.
- Build scalable, secure, observable, and fault-tolerant workflows using SQL, Python, PySpark, Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, Spark, and AWS services.
- Develop Bronze, Silver, and Gold layer transformations aligned with medallion architecture and enterprise star-schema standards.
- Support onboarding of strategic platforms using reusable integration patterns, and contribute to source-to-enterprise mappings and Gold-layer data products.
- Reproduce and validate existing extracts, reports, and datasets by reconciling new platform outputs against current production outputs.
- Implement automated data quality controls, monitoring, alerting, scorecards, and reusable testing libraries.
- Analyze source systems, client data, and business requirements, then translate them into maintainable technical designs.
- Document issues, designs, lineage, solutions, and recommendations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Use AI-assisted engineering tools responsibly to build, debug, test, and accelerate delivery while keeping review and quality standards intact.
Qualifications Envestnet Is Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands-on data engineering experience with advanced SQL and Python, plus PySpark or Spark for distributed data processing.
- Experience designing and operating ETL or ELT pipelines, dimensional data models, and production-grade data workflows.
- Practical experience with Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, and AWS data services in a cloud-based data platform environment.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD, version control, automated testing, and deployment using GitLab, AWS CodeCommit, or comparable tools.
- Ability to gather and interpret business requirements and deliver in Agile teams using Jira or similar tools.
On the nice-to-have side, Envestnet flags experience with Snowflake data sharing, Fivetran, Kafka, Estuary, or AtScale, along with knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, or graph databases and exposure to business intelligence or machine learning libraries. Experience implementing canonical data models, enterprise semantic layers, star schemas, or master data and entity matching patterns also stands out, as does AWS services fluency across EMR, Glue, Athena, Batch, Lambda, CloudWatch, DynamoDB, EC2, CloudFormation, and IAM. Data governance work covering metadata, lineage, classification, privacy, retention, and data-sharing controls is another plus, and so is hands-on time with automated reconciliation, quality scorecards, and tools such as Soda or Elementary. A relevant master's degree or an AWS Solutions Architect, Developer, or Data Analytics certification rounds out the profile.
Compensation and Benefits
- Medical insurance for the employee and family.
- Annual health check-ups.
- Free online doctor consultations and telemedicine services.
- Subsidized health club memberships.
