Data Engineer
Summary
JM Data Talent is placing an experienced AWS Data Engineer with a partner client in Dublin city centre on an initial 6-month contract. Day to day you build Python data pipelines orchestrated with Apache Airflow, deploy Dockerised microservices on AWS, and support analytics/ML workloads, mostly remote with 2-3 client-site visits per month.

Opportunity Overview
JM Data Talent is looking for an experienced Amazon (AWS) Data Engineer for one of its partners, based in Dublin city centre, for an initial 6-month contract engagement in Ireland. The role requires strong cloud data engineering experience with AWS, alongside hands‑on expertise in Python, Apache Airflow, Docker and Microservice Architecture. Experience supporting Machine Learning or ML-related data workloads would be an advantage.
Location: Dublin city centre, predominantly remote
On-site: 2-3 times per month at client site
Sponsorship: Not available (no visa or work permit sponsorship)
Authorisation required: Stamp 4 or EU national
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain reliable data engineering solutions
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python
- Develop and orchestrate workflows using Apache Airflow
- Work within AWS cloud environments
- Build and deploy containerised solutions using Docker
- Work with systems based on Microservice Architecture
- Integrate data across multiple applications, services and platforms
- Troubleshoot and optimise pipelines for reliability and performance
- Collaborate with engineering, data and business stakeholders
- Support appropriate development, testing and deployment practices
- Contribute to data solutions supporting analytics and potential Machine Learning use cases
- Machine Learning or ML-related data pipelines
- CI/CD and automated deployment
Candidates should have strong hands‑on experience with Data Engineering, Python, AWS, Apache Airflow, Docker and Microservice Architecture. The successful candidate should also be comfortable working independently within a technical delivery environment and collaborating effectively with multiple stakeholders.
Candidate Requirements
- Be currently based in Ireland
- Be available to attend the client site approximately 2 to 3 times per month
- Already possess the legal right to work in Ireland for the full contract duration
- Not require visa or employment sponsorship
- Be available for an initial 6-month contract
