Data Engineer (Kafka/ Flink)

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and evolve data-driven services and streaming pipelines. You will work closely with business requirements and product teams to deliver robust, scalable, and high-performance solutions in a modern cloud and streaming environment.

Project information:

  • Type of project: core data platform for global logistics

  • Office location: Warsaw, Poland

  • Work mode: Remote from Poland

  • Budget: 110-130 PLN net/ h- b2b

  • Project length: Tiill the end of 2026, possible to extend it

  • Only candidates with citizenship in the European Union and residence in Poland

  • Start date: ASAP (depending on candidate’s availability)

Project scope:

  • Implement features and user stories based on business requirements

  • Develop and deliver sprint backlog items end-to-end

  • Build and maintain stream processing pipelines using Kafka and Apache Flink

  • Develop backend services using Java (Spring / Quarkus)

  • Ensure strong test coverage and code quality

  • Implement and evolve Avro schemas with Schema Registry

  • Maintain and improve data integration flows across systems

  • Monitor and fine-tune application and streaming performance

  • Contribute to architecture improvements and design decisions

  • Work with AWS services (Lambda, DocumentDB, S3) for supporting platform components

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment

Competence demands:

  • 6+ Years of experience with Kafka/ Flink

  • Apache Kafka / Confluent (producers, consumers, Kafka Connect)

  • Apache Flink (stream processing, stateful/stateless concepts)

  • Strong experience in Java (with Spring and/or Quarkus)

  • Experience with Avro schema design

  • Hands-on experience with Confluent Schema Registry and API usage

  • Experience with AWS services (such as Lambda, DocumentDB, S3, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of event-driven architectures

  • Very good English skills

Nice to have:

  • Terraform, Python

  • BDD / Cucumber

  • GitOps / CI/CD (PR-based workflows, GitFlow)
