Summary

Quantion is seeking a Backend/Data Engineer to design and maintain event-driven microservices, data pipelines, and API integrations for airline operations. The role focuses on Python, FastAPI, Kafka, and Azure cloud infrastructure.

We are looking for Backend / Data Engineers to design, build, and maintain high-performance event-driven microservices, data processing pipelines, and API integrations for critical airline operations.


Key Responsibilities & Focus Areas:


  • Event Processing & Messaging: Build and optimize high-throughput Kafka consumers and event-driven data flows.
  • Core Logic Engine: Develop automated triage engines and intelligent deduplication logic to process incoming operational data.
  • Integrations & APIs: Implement robust REST and WebSocket API layers, including integration with OIP (Operational Integration Platform) and Dataverse.
  • System Design & Delivery: Maintain data models and migrations using modern, asynchronous Python tools and deploy on cloud infrastructure.


Core Skills:

  • Languages & Frameworks: Python 3.12+, FastAPI, async programming.
  • Data & Migrations: Alembic migrations, relational data modeling.
  • Databases & Caching: PostgreSQL, Redis, Microsoft Dataverse.
  • Event-Driven Architecture: Apache Kafka.
  • APIs: RESTful APIs, WebSocket protocols.
  • DevOps & Containers: Docker, uv, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure DevOps.


Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Amadeus / GDS integrations.
  • Working knowledge of Azure Event Hubs and Azure Service Bus.
  • Domain background in Airline Operations or IRREG (Irregular Operations) management.
