Data Engineer

The Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer will support the development of the data warehouse, data marts, and analytical backend required for the Retail Analytics Platform. The role will transform transactional data from retail OLTP systems into reliable, governed, and business-ready datasets for retail reporting, planning and forecasting. This is a techno-functional role that requires strong data engineering capability, understanding of retail business processes,

and ownership of end-to-end data quality and monitoring.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain ELT/ETL pipelines, transformations, and data marts to support the overall Retail Analytics Platfor
• m.Work with transactional source data across sales, inventory, finance/NetSuite, product/item master, store/channel, marketplace, and customer/CLP domains, as applicabl
• e.Design and implement layered data structures guided by medallion architecture, including raw, standardized, curated, and gold-layer dataset
• s.Build parameter-driven and reusable transformation logic for recurring data processing and reporting/planning need
• s.Translate business rules, master data relationships, and operational processes into reliable data models and transformation logi
• c.Support dimensional modeling, KPI logic implementation, hierarchy alignment, and backend dataset preparation for dashboard and planning module
• s.Implement data quality checks, reconciliation routines, exception reporting, monitoring, and issue traceability from dashboard output back to source system
• s.Investigate discrepancies between reports, data marts, and source syste
• msPrepare documentation for data models, transformation logic, data lineage, business rules, and data quality control
• s.Support UAT, user-reported data issues, production fixes, and enhancement requests related to data and backend dataset
• s.Collaborate with business SMEs, data team members, and platform engineers to ensure that data outputs are accurate, usable, and aligned with business requirement
• s.Use AI coding tools responsibly, where available, to accelerate development, documentation, testing, and troubleshooting while maintaining code qualit

Qualification

• s: At least 5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, data warehouse development, or business intelligence backend developme
