Summary
A data engineer joins a fintech in Newcastle upon Tyne to partner with front-office teams, building and operating the firm's data platform: automating data processes, designing robust pipelines, curating datasets, and enforcing data quality, primarily using Databricks (ideally on Azure), SQL, Apache Spark, and Python (PySpark/Pandas).
In this role you will partner with front office teams to translate data needs into scalable, reliable data capabilities. You’ll contribute to developing and operating the firm’s data platform using in-house and third-party tools, focusing on automating data processes and building robust pipelines. You will curate datasets and implement pragmatic data models while enforcing quality and standards. - commercial Data Engineering experience
- experience with Databricks, ideally Azure
- proficiency in SQL, Apache Spark, Python (PySpark and Pandas)

- academic record with minimum 2.1 BSc from a top-tier university
