Data Governance Analyst

Responsible for implementing and managing data governance frameworks that ensure data integrity, compliance, and effective management across the organization. This role focuses on defining data governance policies, standards, and best practices while collaborating with stakeholders to promote a culture of data stewardship.

Data Governance Framework Implementation\:

• Assist in developing and maintaining a robust data governance framework that aligns with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

• Define data ownership and stewardship roles, ensuring clear accountability for data management across the organization.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish data governance policies and procedures.

Metadata Management\:

· Oversee the development and maintenance of a metadata repository that supports data discovery, data lineage, and data quality initiatives.

· Ensure that metadata is consistently captured, maintained, and utilized to enhance data governance practices.

• Work with data stewards to ensure accurate documentation of data definitions and classifications.

Data Governance Tools Exploration and Implementation\:

· Research and evaluate data governance tools that enhance data management capabilities and compliance efforts.

· Lead the implementation of selected tools, ensuring they align with the organization’s data governance framework.

• Provide training and support to teams on the effective use of data governance tools.

Compliance and Risk Management\:

· Ensure that data governance practices comply with relevant laws and industry standards, such as GDPR.

· Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions.

• Work with legal and compliance teams to develop policies that mitigate data-related risks.

Training and Advocacy\:

· Provide training and support to data stewards and business users on data governance best practices and policies.

· Act as a liaison between technical teams and business units, promoting awareness of data governance objectives and importance.

• Facilitate workshops and discussions to foster a culture of data stewardship and collaboration
