Data Manager / Programmer
Remote (Australia) | Full Time
Our client is a growing Australian research and technology company seeking a technically-minded Data Manager / Programmer to help build the systems, automations and data processes that underpin its research and client projects.
This isn't a traditional data management role focused on documentation and oversight. The successful candidate will be hands-on with automation, integrations, data pipelines, AI-assisted workflows and technical problem solving.
The company is small, ambitious and highly flexible. There are no layers of management and no rigid job boundaries. If you enjoy figuring things out, building solutions and taking ownership, you'll thrive in this environment.
What You'll Be Doing
Building and improving automated data workflows
Designing and managing data pipelines and integrations
Supporting research, validation and client studies
Using AI tools to accelerate and improve processes
Creating dashboards, reports and data quality checks
Working with clinical and research data
Improving systems and identifying opportunities for automation
Helping establish processes, standards and best practices as the business grows
About You
The ideal candidate will bring a mix of technical capability, curiosity and initiative within Life Sciences.
You may have experience in:
Clinical Data Management
Data Engineering
Data Analytics
Research Technology
Software Development
Health Technology
Or a similar field
We're particularly interested in people who:
Have experience working with data end-to-end
Can write code and automate repetitive tasks
Enjoy building systems and solving problems
Are comfortable working independently
Have experience using AI tools in a professional setting
Can communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Technical Skills
Experience with some of the following would be highly regarded:
Python
SQL
R or SAS
APIs and data integrations
Power BI, Tableau or similar reporting tools
Clinical research, healthcare or regulated environments
