A few application tips…
We want to help you put your best foot forward. Here are a few things we look for:
- Clear, specific examples of your work and impact
- Relevant experience aligned with the role’s focus
- A thoughtful response to any application questions
- A resume that highlights both what you did and why it mattered
Why this role exists…
We’re building DBT capability on a project. As a small, agile organisation, we’re investing in people who can help us deliver quickly and grow our competency in India with support from UK colleagues. You’ll have clear impact from day one and room to move across projects as you develop.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Data Modelling: Design, develop, and maintain complex data models using dbt Core to support various business functions.
- Pipeline Optimization: Build and manage scalable data transformation pipelines within Snowflake, ensuring high performance and cost-efficiency.
- Code Quality: Implement software engineering best practices in the data stack, including version control (Git), modularity, and CI/CD.
- Testing & Documentation: Ensure data integrity by writing robust dbt tests and maintaining comprehensive documentation via dbt docs.
- Performance Tuning: Optimize Snowflake compute and storage by managing clustering keys, materialized views, and efficient SQL querying.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Data Analysts and Business Leads to translate business requirements into technical data schemas.
- Delivering the majority of your assigned work independently, to a high standard (quality + on‑time)
- Demonstrating holistic project understanding - how your work fits the wider data flow and business goals
- Building healthy working relationships across the India team and, over time, with UK stakeholders
You might be a great fit if you have:
- 2 years’ experience in dbt Core, including macros, packages (like dbt-utils), and Jinja templating (we’re not considering freshers for this role)
- Strong SQL fundamentals and practical exposure to DBT
- Deep understanding of Snowflake-specific features such as Tasks, Streams, Snowpipe, and Zero-copy cloning.
- Familiarity with Git/Bitbucket and awareness of CI/CD concepts (nice to have)
- Clear communication - you can articulate your thinking to technical and non‑technical partners
- A learning mindset: proactive, curious, and willing to work “a notch above” expectations (automation, generalising code, improving process)
- Transparency and ownership - comfortable asking for help early and taking accountability for outcomes
- Highly siloed work with very narrow task scopes (we value holistic project thinking)
- Constant step‑by‑step guidance (we expect growing autonomy and initiative)
- Impact from day one on a new, high‑visibility project
- Growth in a small, agile company with opportunities to rotate across projects as you develop
- Supportive team culture - mentorship from seniors, collaboration with India & UK colleagues, open feedback and help‑seeking encouraged
