The Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) promotes opportunities for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), and Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB). The primary function for this position is to serve as a Data Scientist. Incumbent analyzes a variety of OSDBU functions for continued efforts to identify deficits, improve efficiencies, and combat identified fraud, waste, and abuse.

Duties include but not limited to: Plan and oversee data science projects. Develop logic, code, models, and reporting structures. Serve as the technical expert in area of data science to OSDBU staff. Develop algorithms to support data manipulation and processing to tailor presentation of findings. Apply large language model and generative AI capabilities to conduct data extraction without preset specifications. Lead projects identifying methods to extract and interpret findings from datasets related to the data science lifecycle. Work with data science tools Python, R, SQL, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, SAS, and cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS). Lead projects using regression and statistical analysis, machine learning, time series forecasting, and data visualization.
