We're looking for DBAs who excel in high‑performance environments where maintaining uptime, driving optimisation, and ensuring data integrity are essential to business success.

Our Client operates globally, supporting large‑scale infrastructure and enterprise systems where data availability, performance, and security underpin everything they do. Their IT environment is complex and high‑volume, requiring experienced professionals who can ensure systems are resilient, optimised, and scalable across multiple platforms. You'll join a mature Enterprise IT function responsible for managing mission‑critical database environments across cloud and on‑prem infrastructure. The role blends hands‑on database administration with performance engineering, system design, and continuous optimisation.

Responsibilities Administer and maintain Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database environments Monitor and optimise database performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks Implement backup, recovery, and security processes to ensure data integrity Support development, testing, and production environments across the business Design and implement high‑availability and replication solutions (Data Guard, Golden Gate) Collaborate with development teams to optimise queries and database interactions Develop and maintain SQL scripts, stored procedures, and automation Requirements 5-7 years' experience in database administration within enterprise environments Strong hands‑on experience with Oracle (12c/19c) and Microsoft SQL Server Strong expertise in database performance tuning and optimisation Experience with replication, clustering, and HA solutions (Data Guard, Golden Gate) Solid understanding of relational database concepts and data modelling Experience with Linux/Unix environments and enterprise storage (SAN) Exposure to cloud database environments (AWS / Azure) Ability to troubleshoot and resolve critical issues under pressure Strong focus on data integrity, security, and system reliability Ability to work across teams and communicate technical concepts clearly Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
